TJ Warren Now Part Of The Wolfpack.

The snowball affect for the Wolpacks 2012 recruiting class does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. A couple months ago it started with Tyler Lewis then Rodney Purvis and now TJ Warren.

The 6-foot-7 wing out of Brewster Academy (NH), by way of Raleigh, North Carolina made it official today that he will be a Wolfpack.

“Tyler and Rodney are both real good friends,” Warren told The News & Observer. “They’ve been on me to be a part of history.”

Warren picked the North Carolina St. over Florida, North Carolina and Georgetown. With Purvis, Lewis and Warren all under the umbrella for 2012 recruiting class the Wolfpack look to be headed in the right direction under new head coach Mark Gottfried.

Mitch McGary Trims List To Three And Is Ready To Decide.

Its looks like the recruitment of  Mitch McGary is ready to come to and end. The 6-foot-10 big man out of Brewster Academy (NH) has trimmed his list down to Florida, Duke and Michigan. In his latest blog for ESPN McGary wrote that he will be deciding sometime next week.

“I’m planning to make my commitment next week sometime too.  I can honestly say that right now I don’t know where I’m going so anything you read that says I do isn’t true.”

Here goes McGary on why he trimmed Maryland and North Carolina off his list,

I love Maryland, but I just don’t think that it’s the best fit for me and I’m still looking at North Carolina, but, like I said, I don’t really know what’s going on with their scholarship situation after their latest commitments.

Rosco Allen Cancels UNC Visit And Is Ready To Decide.

With Brice Johnson grabbing the last North Carolina offer this morning Rosco Allen (Bishop Gorman, NV) will now have to trim North Carolina off his list.

With that, Allen was scheduled to visit UNC this weekend and has now canceled his trip.

If you eliminate North Carolina from his list that leaves Stanford, UNLV and Oregon all three have received visits from Allen and all three would love to have him.

Update,

I talked to Rosco Allen again today and he told me that he will be making his decision sometime next week, not sure on the exact date of when he will decide.

Top 25 Prospect Brice Johnson is Headed to Chapel Hill

Edisto High School’s (SC) Brice Johnson has committed to the North Carolina Tarheels over the Florida Gators, North Carolina State Wolfpack, and the Clemson Tigers. As a junior last season, he averaged 23 points, 15 rebounds and 5 blocks a game. The 6’9″ power forward quickly climbed the national rankings over the past year by showing his athleticism on the AAU circuit.

His game draws comparisons to current Tarheel star John Henson, and the UNC coaching staff made those comparisons clear on his visit to Chapel Hill. He is a threat to dunk on anyone around him, especially when lurking on offensive rebound opportunities for tip-dunks. He has great hands for a big man and is a tremendous rebounder and shot blocker.

The four-star athlete joins Joel James, Marcus Paige, and J.P. Tokoto in North Carolina’s 2012 class, all of which are also nationally ranked Top 100 players.

Oregon Leads For Dominic Artis

After taking his official visit to Oregon this weekend former UCLA commit Dominic Artis (Findlay Prep, NV) told AJ Jacobsen of Rivals.com that Oregon is the leader for him now.

The night Dominic Artis decommitted from UCLA I was told from a very reliable source the Artis will end up at Oregon, and right now everything still points to this.

The signing period begins November 11 and highly doubt Artis is not a Duck officially by then.
