Andre Drummond Makes Some Decision’s About His Future
The news of the day finally broke, Andre Drummond is now down to five schools and will be transferring high schools. He also is leaving the option open for him to enter the 2012 NBA Draft.
The schools that made his final five are Connecticut, Kentucky, West Virginia Louisville and Georgetown.
“I have a good relationship with all of those coaching staffs,” said Drummond. “They all have a chance to compete for a national championship, and they prepare their players well for the next level” He told ESPN.
As far as transferring schools Drummond will team up with his AAU teammate and close friend point Guard Kris Dunn at Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts.
For the NBA Drummond leaves the door open about the idea but it seems like he needs to learn more about the process and to see if he actually qualifies for the draft.
“I’d like to continue to learn about that option,” he said, “but I’m not going to be making any decisions before the spring either way. I don’t think I’ll have too much to say about it until then. Most people have been really great about respecting my privacy through this process and I really appreciate that. I’m just ready to get back to school and basketball.”
For players like Drummond who according to some could end up being the No.1 pick whenever he comes, should at least have the option to explore the NBA draft and if a team is willing to draft him he should have the option to enter it.
