Kendrick Nunn: Stepping Out of Jabari Parker’s Shadow at Simeon

Kendrick Nunn is a 6-1 165 pound combo guard who has two state championships playing for a nationally respected Simeon basketball program…and he’s only a rising junior. You would think that by this time, with a resume as such, he would have national respect. However, it’s a little harder to do when your playing alongside a classmate who is perhaps the #1 player in the country, Jabari Parker. However, this spring and summer, everything started to change for the smooth guard. Playing at national events both individually, and with his AAU team, his game has blossomed and his stock has started to soar.

Currently, the athletic lefty is scoring offers from programs such as Illinois, Florida State, North Carolina State, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Arizona, and Memphis…with more surely on the way.  With Simeon being favored to win a third straight title this winter alongside his teammate and close friend Parker, expect Nunn’s stock to continue to rise. Also, don’t be surprised if the two teammates consider playing together at the college level. Check out a highlight tape of Kendrick Nunn at the 2011 LeBron James Skills Academy, compliments of City League Hoops.
