Gabe York has committed to the Arizona Wildcats

6’2 guard Gabe York has decided to commit to Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats on Sunday. He picked the Wildcats over Marquette and Washington, giving Arizona their second top-flight recruit for 2012. He will be joining Grant Jerrett in what is shaping up to be a very solid class for Coach Miller.

“When I went there it went cool and I know a lot of the players going there too, which is great,” York told Scout.com. “Plus the relations I have with the coaches is great too.”  Though their were numerous reasons that tipped the scale in the favor of UA, the proximity of the university to York’s home in California was something that he could not turn down. The Orange County Lutheran High School standout has recently had a big time showing at the Adidas Invitational, where he had a tournament high 46 point game. He is in the process of attempting to become a full-time point guard, and if that transition is seamless, expect him to rise in the national rankings to top 25 status.
