Shabazz Muhammad will take his first official visit to Kentucky

The recruitment of Bishop Gorman High School superstar Shabazz Muhammad is sure to take on a mind of its own in the coming months. The newly minted #1 player in America, according to Rivals.com, has more schools interested in him than teenage girls interested in Justin Bieber. However, Muhammad has recently let the media know that he will be taking his first official visit to John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats. “They have a great glass coming in with Mike Gilchrist – we’re real good friends – and Marquis Teague,” Muhammad told Rivals after his first game at the Adidas Invitational. “I want to go see those guys and be with the team and go from there.”

However, just because Shabazz is visiting Big Blue Nation first, don’t assume that they are the leaders to land the athletic lefty. “That would be the impression, but they’re not the leader at all,” Muhammad said. “I’m still testing the waters out, and whoever gets the first official visit isn’t the leader at all. There’s no leader right now.”

When asked about other schools that he is considering, Muhammad rattled off UCLA, Duke, Arizona, Texas, Kansas, UNLV, and was quick to note that there were “probably some others I’m missing right now”.
