Ikenna Iroegbu, arguably on the top point guards in the nation is ready to take his game to next level. Iroegbu will be taking his game from Oakland, CA to the national powerhouse in Mouth Of Wilson, VA Oak Hill Academy. Oak Hill has produced top point guards in the country such as Brandon Jennings (Milwaukee Bucks), Rajon Rondo (Boston Celtics) and Quinn Cook (Duke) all Iroegbu is trying to do when he gets there is start his own legacy.

I go to talk with the 2013-point guard about his recent offers, why he chose to attend oak hill and what an offer from Arizona means to him.

“Right know I have offers from three schools Oklahoma State, USC and just today Arizona offered. I’m also hearing from UCLA (he recently visited the Bruins campus), San Francisco and West Virginia.”

I asked Iroegbu about his recent visit to UCLA

It was a good trip, I like the campus a lot and I go to play pick up with some of the guys on the team.

On what Howland and staff told him.

“They didn’t offer, but they did tell me that they will continue to recruit me and watch me over this summer”

When I asked about the Arizona offer Iroegbu replied

“It feels great to have an offer from them, I always loved Arizona. Plus I have a good relationship with the two incoming points guard Nick Johnson and Josiah Turner. It’s going to be fun to watch them play at Arizona”

I also asked Iroegbu when he does make a list of schools will Arizona be there at the end he replied with “if I had a top 5 they would definitely be on it.”

On when he plans to take some trips and any time frame for a decision.

“I plan to take some more trips come July, talk about it with my parents and just go from there. Decision for me probably sometime before my senior at Oak Hill.”

On Oak Hill

“I’m excited I leave sometime in August, I cant wait to be a part of the great tradition that is Oak Hill Academy, also I just want to go there and not leave a better basketball play but also a better man.”
